Varun Chawla founded build3 to help build impact-oriented startups for the betterment of mind, body, and earth. He takes on the role of an institutional co-founder, whereby his role extends beyond being just an advisor, as he actually co-builds with founders and sees them through until their eventual evolution into robust and self-sufficient organizations.
At build3, he draws on his extensive network and experience to instill creativity and sustainability in startups, thereby driving a tangible difference in society.
Before co-founding Build3, Varun was one of the co-founders of 91springboard, one of India's early entrants into the coworking space—one that began when the concept was still new in the region.
He led 91springboard to become the much-needed hub for startups looking for space and a nourishing environment in which to take the first steps. His vision was to build a community where innovative minds could connect, collaborate, and succeed.
The entrepreneurial spirit of Varun was first brought to light with MyGuestHouse.com. This was a venture aimed at stitching the hospitality sector together seamlessly until it was acquired by MakeMyTrip.
At the helm of this project, he helped underline his intrinsic skills in identifying emerging market opportunities and exploiting them. This skill was further enhanced when he worked at Goldman Sachs in equity research. During this period, he became one of the key members involved with operational setups across Bangalore and Mumbai.
On the educational front, Varun has a B.S. He has a master's in Applied Economics & Management from Cornell University and an executive certificate in Project Management from XLRI.
He also shares his knowledge about finance and business as a Founding Faculty Member at Adianta School for Leadership and Innovation, showcasing his commitment to the cause of developing the next wave of entrepreneurs. This is portrayed in his work in multiple roles across various startups and learning platforms, working together for the growth and success of India's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
